Die Installationskünstlerin Monika Linhard ist eine Erforscherin der vertrauten Alltagsgegenstände und deren ästhetischen Qualitäten. Ausgangspunkt ihrer künstlerischen Praxis ist die Analyse des Werkstoffes, seiner Eigenschaften, seiner Formbarkeit und seiner Reaktion auf künstlerische und physikalische Eingriffe. Ob es die feinen Hemdchentüten sind, die sie zum Rascheln bringt oder die fragilen beweglichen Lamellen der Jalousien, die das Sonnenlicht reflektieren – der künstlerische Akt lebt von der vollzogenen Metamorphose des Materials und seiner Installation im Raum. Nicht nur die einwirkenden physikalischen Kräfte auf das Material bergen Bewegung in sich, sondern sie bringen die Betrachtenden dazu, diese selbständig bei der Umrundung der Installation durch Luftbewegung zu fördern und mit dem Werk zu interagieren.

The installation artist Monika Linhard is an explorer of familiar everyday objects and their aesthetic qualities. The starting point of her artistic practice is the analysis of the material, its properties, its malleability and its reaction to artistic and physical intervention. Whether it are the thin plastic bags that she causes to rustle or the fragile mobile slats of the blinds, which catching and reflecting lights – the artistic act lives from the completed metamorphosis of the material and its installation in space. Not only the physical forces acting on the material involve movement, but they lead the viewers to promote it independently as they circumnavigate the installation through air movement and interact with the work.
